The Chairman of Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) held a productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Zhang Jiegen, Director of Fudan University’s Pakistan Study Center, and his delegation to explore new avenues to strengthen academic and research collaboration between Pakistan and China.
The discussions focused on strengthening institutional linkages between universities in both countries and advancing initiatives to promote academic excellence, innovation, and knowledge exchange. Key areas of cooperation included expanding student exchange opportunities, strengthening faculty development and training programs, and fostering collaborative research projects in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting reflected the growing importance of higher education as a pillar of Pakistan-China relations, with both sides emphasizing the role of academic partnerships in cultivating future leaders, advancing research, and deepening people-to-people connections.
Prof. Zhang and his delegation also invited the HEC Chairman to attend the 6th Exchange Mechanism Meeting and a series of events marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The celebrations are expected to highlight the enduring partnership between the two countries and create new opportunities for cooperation in education, research, and cultural exchange.
