The services of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar in establishing the National Skills University Islamabad and his past contributions at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) in Malaysia are not just commendable but also of immense significance. We are honored to extend an invitation to him as a visiting professor in the talent exchange program. Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs) UMPSA, stated this during his visit to the main campus of the NSU in Islamabad, Pakistan. He further acknowledged that NSU, under the leadership of Prof. Mukhtar, has emerged as a prominent skills-providing institution recognized nationally and internationally by UNESCO/UNEVOC in prestigious projects like the Bridging Innovation and Learning in TVET (BILT) that aims to create a global knowledge bridge. This effort will bring NSU at par with renowned technology centers in Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific and jointly address current challenges in TVET systems arising from technological, social, environmental, and workplace changes.
Prof. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman recognized Pakistan as his second home, as several scholars trained under his tutelage are working there, including NSU. These scholars have made significant contributions in their respective fields of specialization, like cybersecurity and allied information technologies. He shared about the prominence of the UMPSA in Malaysia and its international ranking, even though the university is relatively young, just 22 years old.
In his briefing, Prof. Mukhtar highlighted the remarkable transformation of a devastated area into a world-class university by his team. He has also attracted highly talented people to work in his team, who are contributing day and night to the progress of the National Skills University Islamabad.
The visiting and host academic leaders unanimously agreed that both institutions would jointly work to chalk out a faculty and technology exchange program as soon as possible, in addition to collaborations through UNESCO/UNEVOC initiatives. This decision was made with the shared belief that such collaborations will strengthen the institutions and significantly advance the academic field. On behalf of the faculty and employees, flowers and university souvenirs were presented to Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman.
