Posted 8 months ago
The National University of Technology (NUTECH) has secured recognition as a City & Guilds approved center in a significant leap forward for Pakistan's technical and vocational education landscape. This milestone allows NUTECH to offer globally recognized certifications, reinforcing Pakistan's presence on the international skills development map. Other institutions in the country are expected to receive this recognition, thanks to the visionary efforts of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) under the leadership of its Chairperson, Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad.
This achievement has been facilitated by GEMS, the authorized representative of City & Guilds in Iraq and a strategic partner for special educational projects across the Middle East and Africa. GEMS has consistently provided comprehensive learning solutions to diverse public and private sector clients, making it an invaluable partner in this endeavor. The organization collaborates with governments, businesses, and educational centers worldwide, emphasizing work-based learning to unlock human potential.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University Islamabad (NSU), lauded NUTECH's leadership for achieving this historic milestone. In his remarks, he highlighted the potential for skills-providing organizations across Pakistan to maximize their potential by fostering collaborations with international partners. Dr. Mukhtar shared NSU's accomplishments, including its designation as a UNESCO-UNEVOC Center and a Center of Vocational Excellence by the European Training Foundation, with a potential candidacy for City and Guilds recognition in the coming days.
Prof. Mukhtar states, "Pakistan has an abundance of talented manpower eager for opportunities to secure decent jobs and International certifications like City & Guilds open doors for our workforce to compete on a global stage." He commended NAVTTC's proactive efforts in forging connections between Pakistan's TVET institutions and international skills recognition organizations, noting that these partnerships are vital for the country's socioeconomic development.
NUTECH's recognition as a City & Guilds approved center is not merely a badge of honor for the institution but a hope for the countless individuals striving for professional growth. As more Pakistani institutions align with international standards, the country takes another step toward transforming its technical education system, empowering its workforce, and creating a future rich with opportunities.
