131/25 Minister Wajiha Qamar to Grace National Peace Festival Celebrating Youth Peacebuilders at NSU Islamabad

The National Peace Festival 2025, a flagship event that highlights youth-led peacebuilding and civic engagement, will take place from June 18 to 20, 2025, at the Al-Mukhtar Auditorium, National Skills University, in Islamabad. Organized by the Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA) in collaboration with National Skills University Islamabad, the festival is supported by the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and funded by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) under the PACE Project.

Her Excellency Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, will grace the event as Chief Guest, acknowledging and encouraging the pivotal role youth play in building peace and preventing violent extremism across Pakistan.
 

The three-day festival is expected to gather over 5000 students, faculty members, and peacebuilders from across the country, offering a dynamic platform for dialogue, creativity, and collaborative action. A special emphasis will be placed on the revival of Peace Societies in universities, empowering students to lead initiatives rooted in inclusion, interfaith harmony, and civic responsibility.

The festival will highlight key milestones achieved under the PACE Project, including the training of over 850 students and faculty in peacebuilding, dialogue facilitation, and conflict resolution. The Unity in Diversity Campaign, led by student Peace Societies, has already engaged over 5,000 students through peace rallies, storytelling events, and interfaith dialogues across Pakistani campuses.

Key Highlights of the Festival include A Peace Forum and Leadership Dialogue, where university vice-chancellors and academic leaders will engage directly with youth to explore how peace education can be integrated into institutional policies. Moreover, in the Experience Sharing by Peace Societies, student and faculty focal persons will present case studies and real-life impact stories from their campuses. The Creative Competitions highlight peace, poetry slams, digital poster design, speech contests, and live painting, serving as artistic outlets for peaceful expression. Last but not least, the Music for Peace Performance & Awards Ceremony will conclude with a celebration of culture, youth, and unity.

Minister Wajiha Qamar’s presence reflects on the government’s commitment to supporting grassroots peace initiatives in the education sector. Her expected address will focus on fostering a safe, inclusive, and democratic environment within higher education institutions.

The National Peace Festival 2025 aims to deepen collaboration among students, educators, and policymakers, ensuring that youth remain at the center of Pakistan’s journey toward peace, tolerance, and national cohesion. نوجوانوں کی قیامِ امن کی کاوشوں کو خراجِ تحسین  - وزیر مملکت وجیہہ قمر نیشنل پیس فیسٹیول 2025 میں بطور مہمانِ خصوصی مدعو

نیشنل پیس فیسٹیول 2025، جو کہ نوجوانوں کی قیامِ امن اور سماجی ہم آہنگی کی کاوشوں کو اجاگر کرنے والا ایک نمایاں قومی ایونٹ ہے، 18 سے 20 جون تک نیشنل سکلز یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد کے المختار آڈیٹوریم میں منعقد ہوگا۔

یہ فیسٹیول شعور فاؤنڈیشن فار ایجوکیشن اینڈ اویئرنیس (SFEA) کے زیر اہتمام، نیشنل اسکلز یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد کے اشتراک سے منعقد کیا جا رہا ہے، جب کہ نیشنل کاؤنٹر ٹیررازم اتھارٹی (NACTA) کی معاونت اور یورپی یونین (EU) و اقوام متحدہ کے ادارہ برائے انسدادِ منشیات و جرائم (UNODC) کے مالی تعاون سے PACE منصوبے کے تحت اس کی سرپرستی کی جا رہی ہے۔

معزز وزیر مملکت برائے وفاقی تعلیم و پیشہ ورانہ تربیت، محترمہ وجیہہ قمر اس فیسٹیول میں بطور مہمانِ خصوصی شریک ہوں گی اور ملک کے نوجوانوں کے قیامِ امن اور انتہاپسندی کے خلاف کردار کو سراہیں گی۔

تین روزہ اس فیسٹیول میں ملک بھر سے طلبہ، اساتذہ اور امن کے داعی افراد کی شرکت متوقع ہے۔ یہ ایونٹ مکالمے، تخلیقی اظہار اور اجتماعی عمل کا ایک متحرک پلیٹ فارم فراہم کرے گا۔ جامعات میں امن سوسائٹیز کی ازسرِنو بحالی اس فیسٹیول کا مرکزی موضوع ہوگی، تاکہ طلبہ کو بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی، شمولیتی طرزِ فکر اور شہری ذمہ داریوں کے تحت قائدانہ کردار ادا کرنے کے لیے بااختیار بنایا جا سکے۔

PACE منصوبے کے تحت اب تک 850 سے زائد طلبہ و اساتذہ کو امن سازی، مکالمہ سازی اور تنازعات کے حل پر تربیت دی جا چکی ہے۔ اسی پروگرام کے تحت "یونٹی ان ڈائیورسٹی" مہم کے ذریعے 5000 سے زائد طلبہ کو امن ریلیوں، کہانی گوئی کی تقریبات اور بین المذاہب مکالموں میں شامل کیا گیا۔

فیسٹیول کی نمایاں نکات :

پیس فورم اور لیڈرشپ ڈائیلاگ: جس میں جامعات کے وائس چانسلرز اور دیگر تعلیمی قائدین نوجوانوں کے ساتھ مل کر امن تعلیم کو ادارہ جاتی پالیسیوں میں شامل کرنے کے امکانات پر غور کریں گے۔

تجربات کا تبادلہ: مختلف جامعات کی پیس سوسائٹیز کے نمائندگان اپنے کیمپس میں کیے گئے اقدامات اور ان کے مثبت نتائج پر مبنی کہانیاں پیش کریں گے۔

تخلیقی مقابلے: امن سے متعلقہ موضوعات پر شاعری، تقریر، ڈیجیٹل پوسٹر ڈیزائن اور لائیو پینٹنگ جیسے مقابلے منعقد کیے جائیں گے، جو نوجوانوں کے لیے پرامن اظہار کا موثر ذریعہ ثابت ہوں گے۔

موسیقی برائے امن اور ایوارڈز کی تقریب: جہاں ثقافت، اتحاد اور نوجوانوں کی شمولیت کو بھرپور انداز میں خراج تحسین پیش کیا جائے گا۔

محترمہ وجیہہ قمر کی شرکت اس امر کی عکاسی کرتی ہے کہ حکومت تعلیم کے شعبے میں نچلی سطح پر قیامِ امن کے لیے جاری کوششوں کی بھرپور تائید کر رہی ہے۔ ان کا متوقع خطاب اعلیٰ تعلیمی اداروں میں ایک محفوظ، جمہوری اور شمولیتی ماحول کے فروغ پر مرکوز ہوگا۔

نیشنل پیس فیسٹیول 2025 کا بنیادی مقصد نوجوانوں، اساتذہ اور پالیسی سازوں کے درمیان مؤثر روابط کو فروغ دینا ہے، تاکہ پاکستان میں امن، برداشت اور قومی یکجہتی کے سفر میں نوجوان نسل کو مرکزی کردار ادا کرنے کا موقع فراہم کیا جا سکے۔ یہ فیسٹیول نوجوانوں کے جذبے، عزم اور وژن کا روشن استعارہ ثابت ہوگا۔
