Federal Education Ministry Senior Officials Praises NSU

Undoubtedly, the National Skills University Islamabad has all the ingredients to be called a world-class technology university. With the necessary support and resources available, this university can easily be accredited by international bodies. In the initial reconstruction and development phases, besides transforming laboratories/workshops into contemporary technology centers, we have taken into consideration the accessibility of everyone, for differentially abled access to skills-learning laboratories facilitated through converting stairs into accessible ramps of international standards, insulated laboratories/workshops flooring to avoid any untoward incidents by electric shocks, adopting all safety measures at par with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), availability of internet facility across the campus, safer student hostels under 24 hrs. surveillance are few to name. The Vice-Chancellor stated this during a visit of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFE&PT) high-level delegation comprising Mr. Abdul Sattar Khokhar, Senior Joint Secretary, and Mr. Muhammad Zubair Khan, Deputy Secretary.
The senior officials of the MoFE&PT took an extensive tour of the various laboratories and workshops used for skills training. They were pleased to know about the contributions of the NSU Academia-Industry linkage flourishing with support from the University Advisory Council. Through joint efforts of the NSU Advisory Council and University Senate, several projects have been accomplished at this university. Worth mentioning here are NSU Vision 2025 – the only university in the country having a clearly defined roadmap; establishment of 50 computer laboratories through a donation by the advisory council members, particularly with national giants in the IT sector, the Muller & Phipps and Systems Ltd, digital mapping of the university infrastructure, master planning of the entire campus, developing need-based hospitality training curricula by Serena Pakistan are few to name here.
Further shedding light on internationalization, Vice Chancellor Prof. Mukhtar disclosed that NSU, besides being a recognized UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, is also a winner of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Co-action initiative twice. Under the umbrella of this program, this university is developing its skills training curricula with several developed countries' technology universities, including China, Cambodia, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Tanzania, and the United Arab Emirates.
Both the senior officials of the university praised the overall skill learning ambiance at the university, organization of laboratories, and workshops. They promised full support from the Education ministry besides facilitation at national and international levels.
