45/25 Federal Education Ministry Partners with Khan Academy to Revolutionize Digital Learning

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training of Pakistan has officially partnered with Khan Academy, marking a pivotal moment in the nation's quest for accessible, high-quality education. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing on March 4, 2025, heralds the introduction of Khan Academy's AI-powered tutor, Khanmigo, into classrooms nationwide, a move poised to revolutionize learning methodologies and equip students with 21st-century skills.

The collaboration will focus on training teachers from the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to integrate Khanmigo into their pedagogical approach seamlessly. By leveraging artificial intelligence, the initiative aims to deliver personalized learning experiences tailored to individual student needs, bridging learning gaps and fostering academic excellence. This initiative comes when education systems increasingly adopt AI to enhance learning outcomes and prepare students for a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Federal Secretary of Education, Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, underscored the strategic importance of this partnership: "We are excited to collaborate with Khan Academy to bring personalized learning to our students. This initiative aligns with our vision to provide high-quality education that prepares our students for success in the modern world." Osman Rashid, Chairman of Khan Academy Pakistan, echoed his sentiments and reaffirmed the organization's commitment to equitable learning: "We believe that every student deserves access to a world-class education, and we are thrilled to work with the Ministry to make that a reality in Pakistan."

Key stakeholders attended the MOU signing ceremony, including Parliamentary Secretary Madam Farah Naz Akbar and Khan Academy CEO Mr. Zeeshan Hassan. Also present at the event was Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University Islamabad, who lauded the initiative as a monumental step toward democratizing education in Pakistan. "This collaboration has the potential to reshape our educational landscape by making cutting-edge digital resources available to students across the country," he remarked, emphasizing the significance of integrating technology into mainstream education. Further commenting on the efforts of the Federal Secretary, he mentioned that collaboration with Khan Academy is another golden feather in his crown. This initiative will complement Mr. Wani's tireless efforts to bring Chromebooks.
