Sana Mir's induction into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Fame marks a defining moment in the narrative of Pakistani women in sports. At a time when cricket is expanding its boundaries, her journey demonstrates that excellence, determination, and the ability to lead depend on your vision and to accomplish it.

When the ICC announced its latest inductee, Ms. Sana Mir, into the Hall of Fame, the moment belonged to the legends of bat and ball and to a generation of girls who dared to dream. Expressing her thoughts on social media, she says, "Playing cricket for Pakistan was always the greatest reward in itself. From dreaming as a little girl that one day there would even be a women's team in our country to now standing here, inducted among the very legends I idolized long before I ever held a bat or a ball, this is a moment I once couldn't have dared to imagine."

Since stepping onto the international stage in 2005, Sana Mir has represented Pakistan in 226 matches across formats. She ranks among a rare group of nine women in One Day Internationa (ODI) history to achieve the double milestone of 100 wickets and 1,000 runs. As captain, she guided Pakistan through two World Cups and five T20 World Cups, anchoring the team's rise on the global stage.

In 2018, Sana Mir became the top-ranked bowler in women's one-day cricket. She also led Pakistan to gold medals at the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014. Her success came when more opportunities were slowly opening up for women in sports in Pakistan.

The ICC recognizes Mir as "an ambassador for women's cricket," and she is from Pakistan.
