USP Intends to Move Toward a Smarter Digital Future with VDI, Cloud Lab and Smart Campus Collaboration

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Rector of the University of Southern Punjab (USP) Multan, held a productive meeting with Kaven Xing, Director of OS-EASY Group Holding Ltd., to explore opportunities to introduce next-generation digital infrastructure at the University.

The discussion focused on deploying Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Cloud Labs, and Smart Campus solutions at the University of Southern Punjab. These technologies could transform the University’s computing environment by enabling flexible virtual computer laboratories, remote access to computing resources, centralized IT management, and more efficient use of existing hardware.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mubasher Hussain Malik, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, also joined the discussion by phone and contributed to deliberations on the technological and academic potential of VDI and cloud-based laboratory solutions.

A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement for USP and OS-EASY to collaborate to explore and provide VDI opportunities in Multan and the broader Southern Punjab region. The initiative could position USP as an important hub for promoting modern, accessible, and cost-effective digital infrastructure for higher education across the region.
