On the second evening of Eid al Fitr 2025 Mazahia Mushaira recorded at the Al-Mukhtar Auditorium at the National Skills University Islamabad sprea laughter across the globe through PTV home. For recording of this program, a distinguished gathering of poets, students, and literature enthusiasts convened to celebrate the timeless art of humorous Urdu poetry. Among those present was Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of the university, alongside students from National Skills University Islamabad and the National University of Modern Languages (NUML).

At the heart of the evening’s revelry was the legendary Anwar Masood, whose poetry has long been a beacon of joy for Urdu speakers across generations. Masood’s unique ability to find humor in the mundane has made his verses a source of amusement and a cultural staple, offering a momentary escape from life’s worries.

Humor in Urdu poetry is more than just a series of witty couplets; it is an art form that captures the quirks of everyday life, friendships, and the shared human experience. Masood, in particular, has mastered the delicate balance between satire and affection. His verses about youthful mischief and the idiosyncrasies of friendship resonate deeply with audiences, making them laugh while subtly reflecting on the absurdities of life.

There is a certain universality to Masood’s work. His humorous Shayari is not just entertainment, it is a conversation. Listeners find themselves nodding along, recognizing their own experiences in his words. His poetry is recited at gatherings, quoted in friendly banter, and cherished in quiet moments of reflection. This relatability has made him a household name, with many turning to his verses as a daily source of lighthearted relief.

In an era where news cycles are relentless and life often feels burdened with uncertainties, the ability to laugh especially through the well-crafted humor of Anwar Masood is a gift. Poetry, in its finest form, connects us, and in the case of Mazahia Mushaira, it not only connects us but also wraps us in a warm blanket of inclusivity, reminding us that sometimes, the best wisdom is wrapped in laughter.
