The Socio Engineering Technologies (SET) Pakistan and the Islamabad University of Health Sciences and Emerging Technologies (IUHT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish IUHT as a Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC).

The agreement is more than a ceremonial partnership. It signals a growing commitment from academia and industry to equip Pakistani students with internationally recognized credentials and practical digital competencies that are increasingly essential in a technology-driven world.

As part of the collaboration, IUHT students will gain access to globally recognized Certiport certification programs, internationally accredited digital skills training, and professional assessments aligned with international workforce standards. The initiative is expected to enhance graduates' employability and strengthen Pakistan's capacity to develop a highly skilled, globally competitive talent pool.

The partnership is built on a shared vision to deepen industry-academia collaboration, integrate globally recognized certifications into higher education, equip students with future-ready skills, and foster innovation that contributes to Pakistan's expanding digital economy.

Education and technology leaders increasingly emphasize that academic degrees alone are no longer sufficient in a rapidly changing labor market. Professional certifications validated by global technology partners have become valuable credentials for employers seeking graduates with practical, industry-relevant expertise. By becoming a Certiport Authorized Testing Center, IUHT joins a growing network of institutions committed to bridging the gap between classroom learning and workplace expectations.

Officials from SET Pakistan described the agreement as part of the organization's broader mission to transform education through strategic partnerships linking students to internationally benchmarked opportunities.

"Building meaningful collaborations between industry and academia is essential for preparing Pakistan's youth for the future," SET Pakistan noted. "This partnership reflects our commitment to reducing the skills gap, expanding access to globally recognized certifications, and empowering the next generation to compete confidently in international markets."

The leadership of IUHT reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and innovation, expressing confidence that the collaboration will enrich students' educational experience and strengthen the university's role in producing graduates prepared for the digital age.

As Pakistan accelerates its digital transformation agenda, partnerships of this nature are expected to play an increasingly important role in developing a workforce capable of meeting global standards, attracting technology investment, and supporting sustainable economic growth.

The agreement also highlights a broader shift in higher education toward competency-based learning, in which internationally accredited certifications complement academic qualifications and provide students with tangible evidence of professional skills recognized worldwide.
