Honda Benly e Motorbike for UET Lahore Synertizes Academic Industry Linkage and Paves the Way for Technology and New Skills

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has welcomed its first electric motorcycle, a Honda Benly e: motorcycle, from Atlas Honda. This advanced model, powered by lithium-ion batteries, was presented to UET's Automotive Engineering Centre (AEC) as part of a strategic collaboration. The motorcycle's unique features, such as its advanced battery technology, make it a significant addition to UET's EV research and industry-academia synergy.

 

The event, led by the UET Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, was a significant milestone. It was attended by Atlas Honda's leadership team, including Mr. Zia ul Hassan Khan, GM of Sales & Marketing; Mr. Sadullah Ejaz, GM of Human Resource & Corporate Affairs; and Mr. Muhammad Yawar Farooq, National Manager of the New Model Center. UET representatives, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Tauseef Aized, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Ali Hussain Kazim, Director of Automotive Engineering, extended a warm welcome.

 

Prof. Dr. Munir described this collaboration as a pivotal moment in Pakistan's EV journey, providing faculty and students the opportunity to delve into the mechanics and potential of electric mobility. "This partnership reinforces our commitment to bridging industry and academia, setting a foundation for students to explore, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan's EV ecosystem," he stated.


Speaking on behalf of Atlas Honda, Mr. Zia ul Hassan Khan emphasized the symbolic importance of the Honda Benly e: as the company's first electric motorcycle in Pakistan. He highlighted the potential of this partnership to reshape Pakistan's transportation landscape. Mr. Ejaz echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the partnership's potential to redefine Pakistan's mobility landscape, fostering innovation and advancing EV adoption across the country.
